Title: Impact of COVID-19 on health care delivery system
Nursing Objectives: At the conclusion of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the impact of COVID 19 on the quality of care as a result of nursing shortage
- Describe the impact of COVID 19 on the physical and emotional health of the nursing workforce
- Discuss the effect of COVID 19 on the financial resources of the healthcare organizations
- Describe the interdisciplinary collaboration to mitigate the negative impact of COVID 19 on healthcare delivery processes
Nursing Expected Targets
- Nurse/patient ratio, sickness, shortage, temporary nurses etc.
- Impact patient/nurse ratio in the inpatient units
- Physical burden of patient workload - sick calls, burnout, etc
- Emotional burden of frequent patient deaths in the absence of loved ones in the final minutes of life
- Impact of using travel / per diem nurses as substitute care providers
- Racial and ethnic health disparities
- Impact on human resources
Speakers:
Two (2) speakers needed (unless we can find one person to speak from both perspectives)
- Hands on nurse/bedside nurse
- Administrator (Nurse Manager or Nursing Director)
Time: 20 minutes per speaker (40 minutes total)
NANNNA is hosting the next interdisciplinary webinar scheduled for June 18th, 2022. We are looking for two speakers to address the topic as outlined in the attached document.
Please let me know if you are able to represent one or both of the two roles or have suggestions about qualified speakers. We have to identify our speakers before next weekend - June 12th.
